From 1967 to 1970. Director of Information Services and Press of the Republic of Senegal.
From 1970 to 1978. Chief of Staff to Mr. Leopold Sedar Senghor, President of the Republic of Senegal, for nine years.
Coordinator of the National Security Service of the Office of the President of the Republic.
From 1978 to 1979. Minister of Planning, Housing and Environment
From 1979 to 1984. Minister of Foreign Affairs
. Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (1978-1979).
. Elected Chairman of the Special Session of the General Assembly of the United Nations (Paris, April 1979) on the fight against apartheid in South Africa.
. Elected in September 1980, in Geneva, Chairman of the Special Session of the General Assembly of the UN on the settlement of the question of Palestine and the Middle East.
April 1983. Appointed Prime Minister of Senegal with a mission to lead the constitutional reform. The mission was led by Mr. Niasse cumulatively with the portfolio of Minister of State for Foreign Affairs. This is what position he held until his departure from government in 1984.
1984. Mr. Niasse created the Cabinet-Council International. At the head of a Group df'Experts various fields, it provides consulting assignments and consultant to African countries such as Gabon, Congo - Brazzaville, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Togo, Côte d'Ivoire , Nigeria, etc ...
From 1988 to 1991. Mr. Niasse chairing the Board of Directors of the Insurance Company Sosar Al Amane.
From 1984 to 1993. Moustapha Niasse has invested over eight and a half years in private sector activities. He created a financial operational group composed of six companies (crude oil, insurance, financial and business consulting, chandlery and marine activities, air transport).
June 1993. Mr. Niasse was invited by HE President Abdou Diouf, President of the Republic of Senegal, to return to the Government by taking the Senegalese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Department expanded the Senegalese abroad. Thus, for five years, Mr. Niasse assume this dual function, as a volunteer, while continuing to preside over its financial and operating private group.
Nov. 1996. Mr. Niasse was approached and offered the post of Secretary General of the Organization of the United Nations. This application has not been finally presented on the initiative of Mr. Niasse because he was four, and all African.
July 4, 1998. Mr. Niasse, on his personal request, was relieved of his government responsibilities to devote himself to his private business operator and manager.
July 98 - June 1999. Mr. Niasse prepares for a year, the creation of a political party, which carries the ideal of democracy, justice and collaborative development for which he undertook militant activity since 1957. On 16 June 1999, he made a public appeal to the nation Senegalese entitled "I chose hope."
July 14, 1999. Mr. Niasse created the Alliance of Forces of Progress (AFP), the party that receives legal recognition August 23, 1999.
January 15, 2000.'s Congress AFP meeting in Kaolack, invests Mr. Niasse as presidential candidate of févirer-mars2000.
