Ms Noxolo Kiviet is the Premier of the Eastern Cape Province from 6 May 2009. She is also a member of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the African National Congress (ANC); a member of the Capacity Building Programme for members from 2007 and a member of the Moseneke Commission on Remuneration of Public Office Bearers since 2007.
Ms Kiviet obtained Advanced Diploma in Public Administration from the University of Fort Hare in 2007 and Honours degree in Public Administration from the University of Fort Hare in 2008. She is currently busy with MPA at the University of Fort Hare.
Ms Kiviet has served as a Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee in the Office of the Premier from 2003 to 2004; as Deputy Chairperson of the Chemical Workers Industrial Union (CWIU) in the Eastern Cape from 1993 to 1997; as Treasurer of CWIU for the Eastern Cape Branch from 1991 to 1993 and as a Treasurer of the Congress of South African Trade Union in the Border Kei Region from 1993 to 1994.
She was a member of Labour Council (Nedlac)-Finance and Fiscal Committee in 1995; a Treasurer of the African National Congress in the Eastern Cape Province from 1996 to 2003 and a Whip member for Economic Cluster in the African National Congress (ANC) in Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature from 1999 to 2003.
She was also a member of the Eastern Cape Aids Council (ECAC) from 2004; a leader of the Gender Sensitive Labour Legislation Study Tour Team to Germany in 1995; a Chairperson of the Shopstewards Committee in 1988 and a convenor of Provincial Speakers' Forum. less
